The European Union’s and the Council of Europe’s educational tool titled “Managing Controversy. Developing a strategy for handling controversy and teaching controversial issues in schools.” mainly addresses school principals and officials in school education as a means to empower them promote handling controversy educational practices within their school community.
The school year 2018-2019 this tool has been translated in Greek language and has been the main educational material introduced to the Greek teaching community through a series of training workshops that took place at Thessaloniki, Ioannina, Achaia, Heraklion and Lesvos regions. The above mentioned activities were included in the project “MICRON! – Managing Issues of Controversy by human Rights educatiON!” that ANTIGONE realised with the financial contribution of the European Union and the Council of Europe under Democratic and Inclusive School Culture in Operation (DISCO) Programme. This has been the project that inspired our partnership for the implementation of “Sharing Knowledge Handling Controversy in Schools of Greece, North Macedonia and Bulgaria” the material of which is presented in the present website.
